a sales transaction with the original buyer of the property (“the assignor”) allows another buyer (“the assignee”) to take over the buying rights to purchase the property. Assignment is often used by wholesalers to get discounted properties under contract, with the intent to re-assign the buying rights to another buyer for a small profit. They then sell the property contract to an end buyer, such as a rehabber, by using a legal document called an assignment contract.
